In my tractors case, just because the filter will screw on the housing doesn't mean it's the same as the original in external construction and even the stuff inside we can't see. It was under warranty and GM said, tough luck buddy. It seems he didn't put an additive in it that was required by GM. They sold him some rear end oil, but then a1,000 miles later the rear end seized up. today to pick up some Lo Vis Hygard as I was out. That's easy enough so he went to NAPA to get some rear end oil. I know of a situation where a DIY changed the rear axle oil in his GMC dually. Transmission & Hydraulic Oil - TY22035 (Qty of 4). But if a guy is very sure the product is the same or better, great. John Deere Original Equipment Hy-Gard 32 oz. But researching and getting a bunch of conflicting opinions as to what will work without trashing a $7,000 motor or a more expensive trans-axle to save $30 worth of oil doesn't make sense to me. If it says another product is acceptable in the owners manual, fine, I would get it to if it is cheaper. I posted just the regular hygard numbers since the low viscosity hygard was so close. The low viscosity hy gard has a closer viscosity rating to the atf, almost identical. It looks like the Hygard is a bit heavier than atf+4 but not by much. Low Viscosity HY-GARD TM - LOW VIS HY-GARD, 32 OZ 946 ML. I already bought an average product with a 60 % markup, a John Deere, so whats a couple more filters. The negative comments have come from those using the cheap-o OReillys stuff and other off brand fluids. Your country is United States ( Change) Low Viscosity Hy-Gard.
